WEBS Ministries join other partners to send children back to school

The ever-increasing statistics of out-of-school children have risen to about 20 million in Nigeria. With the help of God and collaborative efforts from several individual ministries and organizations both in cash and kind, WEBS ministries have taken proactive measures to this effect by carrying out back-to-school activities in September 2022. WEBS Ministries identified organizations to partner with to ensure the proper spread of the program and the effective use of funds.

1. School On the Street Initiative is an NGO that provides access to free elementary education for underserved children located at Iyana-Ilogbo, Ogun State. It started its operations on September 19, 2020. WEBS Ministries has supported them with funds used to acquire basic educational resource materials. The items bought were:

  • 48 dozens of 40leaves textbooks.

  • 20 metropolitan coloring textbooks for Kg 1.

  • 3 Basic English Beginners Textbooks (Teacher Copy)

  • 100 Drawing Books.

  • 90 2D Writing Books.

  • 5 Packs of Biros.

2. WiCare Lekota Foundation is set up as a support system to enlighten, empower, and rehabilitate young widows and their children towards self-reliance in order to remain a valuable part of society located in Lagos State. The Project Support a Widow’s Child (SWAC) is an initiative that aims at taking young widows’ children off the streets and sending them back to school. Since 2019, This project has supported over 500 children. Five children benefitted from WEBS Ministries’ financial support.
